I asked you all for help with a pencil sharpener recommendation over 6 months ago. Those who responded like a particular hand crank style pencil sharpener for around $50 or so, as I recall. I didn't order it then due to finances, but I wanted to get it as a family gift for the kids for Christmas as we only have 2 electric pencil sharpeners that do not work well, are very loud, and the little kids have to get the big kids to do it for them all the time. So, I thought...perfect! Can you all be so kind as to help me try to locate the one you all said was the best??? I thought I had favorited it, but cannot find it AND I did a search on the forum...no luck. THANKS!!! Kim

This one is mounted in our garage and we've had it long enough (5+ yrs) that it's a seriously amazing pencil sharpener to have lasted this long with this family

There are these old threads, where Jodie also mentioned the one she just recommended. Not sure if any of these threads was the one you were thinking of.

I'm smiling at how much you love this pencil sharpener, Jodie...

For something that is used by all ages, where many things simply don't.. can't last.. with that many people using it (many things are made to last for use by a 4 person family where everyone is gone the majority of the day) finding a pencil sharpener that holds up and still works well.. still looks pretty good too.. well.. it's unusual enough to gush a bit

I just added it to my bookmarks. My newish electric one is now offset and you have to rotate as you sharpen or you'll end up w/ a wooden tip. Drives me bonkers, and the kids can't use it very well.

This is soooo true!! Hard to believe how hard it is to find a decent pencil sharpener.

Really? how timely, I had an electric pencil sharpener on my wish list as I'm sick of never being able to find a sharpener and the hand crank one we have is useless. so electric will not be my solution

Just wanted to add, that is the same pencil sharpener we have, and we love it, too! It has held up very well in the 4-5 years we have had it, which as Jodie said, doesn't happen with most items nowadays, as they are created only to hold up to much less use than happens in a homeschooling, large family household.

oh I missed this Erin.. Like I said we've had this 5 yr without any problem and my kids are NOT easy on stuff. So do you spend $14 a year on pencil sharpeners already? in that case it might just be worth that $70.

Vanessa

Thank you for letting me know I've just contacted them and now have to wait for 2-3 days to find out if they'll ship to Australia and if so how much.
