Does anyone know of a site with printable pictures of the twelve Apostles? I am hoping to find something like the wonderful Stations of Light cards. I'm planning our Pentecost activities and printing out cards would be helpful, although I can probably find some at my local CAtholic store.
Thanks, McChatty

Patron Saints Index has the apostles, and for each individual apostle there are images. I'm not sure how good the quality, but it's a start, especially since the images like Kathryn uses are small.

This thread has various links that were shared for Stations of the Light images. The specific cards mentioned are Kathryn's Easter Cards.

I like your idea! I might do something similar. I think I would incorporate the symbols next to the name if I was making 3 part cards like Kathryn's.
I found a few more sources for beautiful artwork of the apostles.
Biblical Art: Portaits of New Testament Characters
Olga's Gallery: Christian Saints
Art in the Christian Tradition I searched keyword Apostle portrait and had some wonderful hits. There were many artists that painted all 12 or 13.
Which ones to include is an interesting discussion. Many painters would do the traditional 12, but included St. Paul. One prayerbook I have includes Matthias and Paul but one of the main ones is missing.
Peter
Andrew
James
John
Thomas
Philip
Bartholomew
Matthew
James
Simon
Jude Thaddeus
Matthias who replaced Judas
Paul
That equals 13.

I found various images online, printed them on cardstock and then cut them to holy card size. We put together a pretty fun Petecost ceterpeice using them and will get a pic up as soon as "tech support" (the children) are around to do it for me.
Thanks, mcchatty

There is a beautiful children,s book called "The Twelve Apostles" by Marianna Mayer. There are 2 pages for each of the Apostles - one page of text and one page depicting the Apostle in a great work. The text tells the story of each Apostle along with the Apostle's symbols, patronages, and holy days.
I love this book and we use it a lot. For example, each time we read or talk about one of the apostles in a story or when discussing the Mass readings, I get out the book and show the children the picture of the Apostle. This visual connection helps my children remember each Apostle and makes them seem more real to them.
Hope this helps.
