Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm writing this post in response to a question here so as not to take it off topic, even though it is an old post.

I'm wanting to make some totes and pencil/paint-brush rolls for our journaling. I haven't done much sewing since high school, which is getting to be a long time ago now so I have been looking at as many idea's as I can so I can make up patterns.

I like this Nature Walk Bag on Etsy. I'm not sure whether to add a flap or zip, I do want an outside pocket. If I'm feeling clever I may do some applique too, perhaps leaves or feathers. I want it to be big enough to hold a pencil roll, journal, small watercolor set, rag, waterbottle etc. I would like it to be over-the-shoulder so it doesn't slip off, but I'm wondering if my boys would prefer a small backpack? But backpacks may be too adventurous for this beginner

I have found some online tutorials.
