Thank you once more for your prayers. Hubby does not have an infection, it turns out. He has pneumonia (a known complication of hernia surgery and breathing problems because of the pain). So he spent the night at the hospital, and tonight. Hopefully he'll be home tomorrow.

Oh dear. We just found out the surgery site is indeed infected. Hubby is staying at least another night. He's on another round of antibiotics.
Anyone know any natural remedies I should be giving him? I don't think he's getting probiotics at the hospital so I'd like to give him those. Teas, herbals, anything else I should consider? Thanks.
I'm pretty calm under the circumstances, and able to trust in His will and His plan for hubby. But, our kids, esp. the 7-yo, is having a hard time right now and calling this a "really bad dream". Would appreciate your prayers for him.

Rats, stef. It is SO hard to have dh in a vulnerable position...the whole family feels it, especially sensitive 7yos. Yet, your family is strong and will support each other and this bad dream will be over soon. We will bring your intentions to Mass with us today and will continue to hold you all in prayer until you give us the "Phew! We made it!" sign.

Thanks, everyone! Hubby's doing much better today. And he actually looked better yesterday afternoon than he sounded on the phone in the morning. He still has a slight fever and the blood culture results won't come 'til tonight (to find out what kind of infection so they can prescribe the proper antibiotics). The kids are doing much better too, and are busy with swordfights and fort-building right now. (Needless to say, school stuff has been sporadic, but who cares.) Hoping for two nights more at the most, in the hospital.
I figured it would be a good day to give ourselves a cheering up, so 4-yo Yena and I spent the better part of the morning ordering some spring-blooming bulbs.
