Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I still have at least 6 weeks to go - but with my early history, I am trying to do some shopping and pack a hospital bag now. I know that there have been a couple of threads on what to take -but my searching has not been successful. Please would you share what you take which makes labor and postpartum more comfortable. So far I have:

- new nursing nightgown, dressing gown and slippers (gift from dh and children)
- little cd player and calming cds and lullabies and rosary cds
- rosary and daily missal
- books to read (still trying to decide)
- raspberry leaf tea
- ginger tea
- trail mix
- favorite lavender cosmetics

That is as far as I have got.

Marilyn,
You might enjoy this old thread and I think there's one other. I'm searching...

This is a great thread too. Especially as I am starting to get a little anxious about a C-Section. I will read and digest - and definitely ask for prayers. I had a VBAC last time - and at my OB check this week we are discussing birth options. I am just praying I get the OB who is most favorable towards VBACs. I know I have to be open minded towards the possibility - just have bad memories from the last C-Section.

Oh wow, these threads are great! You ladies really know how to do it right!

I'm sorry, Marilyn, I don't have other ideas for you as I'm in the same boat right now (36 weeks and going to try a VBAC). I was going to suggest a good book but I see that you already have that down. How about a sleep nursing bra?

I didn't even know you could bring your own tea! I hope that red raspberry tea helps with the after birth pains and I hope you are able to do a VBAC again so I'll keep you in my prayers!
