Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I read the first In Grandma's Attic and didn't like the references to being "saved".

I have a copy of the Sugar Creek Gang: The Battle of the Bees and so far it seems a great and good read.

I have several children in need of quality reading who enjoy series, but have read just about everything out there! and some of it mulitple times.

Does anyone have cautions to offer about the Sugar Creek Gang?

All I know is that they have been around a long time AND they are heavily promulgated by Christian Book Distributors and the like. That being said, my kids didn't like the books.

PS I'm sure your kids have read all the "Five for Victory" series by Hilda van Stockum? Probably so. And Redwall? There's enough material to keep even voracious readers busy there!

The exact names, in order of appearance, are"

The Mitchells: Five for Victory
Canadian Summer
Friendly Gables

We loved these books so much. By the time we finished the series, we felt like the Mitchells were our very good friends. If you all don't like them, I'll eat my hat

Happy Reading!

We have read a couple of Sugar Creek Gang, they got struck of my list due to being pure twaddle. I just found the standard of literature very light. There is so much better material for our children to read. IMO
