Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have a child who has SID who needs braces? My 13 year old son needs braces, not for just cosmetic reasons but for health reasons. He has many teeth that overlap and will rot if they are not straightened. His problem is he hates his mouth fooled with. Going to the dentist is awful. He also has a low tolerance for pain so that would be an issue too. On top of all of that, he doesn't brush his teeth well ( I still do it for him at night) so it would be extra care for me as well. I am not sure what to do. He has had some occupational therapy for his SID and they had things to chew on, but it didn't do a lot for him. (that part) Any ideas?

ohmygosh!!! We're on week 2 and he just finished he's six-times-daily-at-least whine!! This was a much bigger deal than I thought it would be. I have a call in to the orthodontist frist thing in the morning. He's great guy--I'm going to run this whole thing past him. It never occurred to me to tell him about the SID connection.

FWIW, he did fine during all the work in the office but he's having a really, reallyhard time dealing with pain and other sensations in his mouth. He's comletely obsessed with these things.
