Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just wanted to share that Aidan was able to get a prescription for a wheelchair with a diagnosis of "limited mobility". He can walk, but he has left hemiplegia so he wears a brace on his left leg. He gets tired after a short distance because of the hemiplegia and because of his medical fragility.

For years we used a regular umbrella stroller but he has outgrown it. This new wheelchair looks and acts like an umbrella stroller but is big enough to fit a small 7yo. He has the rough terrain version because the main use for it will probably be nature walks and that kind of thing. Right now we are limited in how far we can go because he gets tired and sore and has to be picked up. So the wheelchair will give us lots more mobility and range than we have now for family hikes and field trips and vacations and that kind of thing.

I thought I would mention it because until his PT asked, I did not know that there was a "limited mobility" diagnosis and that you could get prescriptions for accommodations for that.

It looks like these and folds up like an umbrella stroller so it is easily portable.   I'm really looking forward to its arrival!

WE got the new wheelchair yesterday! The PT joked that it was the "rough road version".   Aidan loves it already and couldn't stop talking about it.   It is purple, his favorite color; he chose the color himself.   A bonus is that it is heavier and more stable than his older stroller, so he can push it himself and it acts as a sort of walker to help him balance when he wants to be out of it. Thanks for sharing in our enthusiasm
