A couple of opportunities have arisen for group camps for children with celiac disease or for children with diabetes. The ages vary, but these group trips are offered even more for teens. I wonder how important these kind of activities are for our children??? Is it helpful to be together with other kids who have the same disability/sickness? I also wonder if it is better now than when they are teenagers?
My girls certainly are interested, but, given the choice, they would prefer a group camp with Catholic children who love the Church over a celiac or diabetes group.
So, again I wonder, is it the disability that needs supported in a group setting or ... something... Do they just need/want support from their peers in general? I am sorry I can't really express what I am thinking.
Anyone have any thoughts?
