Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Wow this forum has been quiet for awhile, anyone still out there?? So ladies, here is a ponderance I am having as I am putting things together for the fall. My 10 ds has been having private tutoring at our library twice a week for his dyslexia (tested last year, quite severe on a scale from 1 to 10 he was rated an 8). It is convenient and more affordable but I am not sure he has made the progress we had hoped. I am in the same boat as many of you with special blessings--yes, I could spend the time at home but what about the other 6 kids? There is a more intensive program in town but it is more expensive an a drive so more of a disruption to the school day. Obviously, at the end when there is a deicison you pray with hubby and decide but in this fact-finding stage--what questions are good questions to ask:

--Can this professional provide something I cannot?

--How will this disrupt the family?

--What are the potential benefits?

What else...?

Laura (mom to 7, almost 15 down to 18 months)

What will happen if we do not use this "outsourced" option?

What are the credentials of this program/professional?

Have I taken the time to find out what results to expect? Called references?

Here's a thought, though it may be related to what Nancy suggested: how does their methodology compare to the current tutor's? What are the differences in approach?
