Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi

Have any of you used this program for your kids on the the autism spectrum.

It had good press in Dr Norman Doidge's book the Brain that changes itself, a new book on brain plasticity. I have read several other studies that say it has documented effects n improving auditory disorders in learning disabled kids etc.

However like most of these programs it tends to be on the dear side being $2300 per home program over here in Australia and I suspect it is equivalent in price over there in the US.

If any you have invested in it and found it helpful I would be very interested to hear your thoughts on it

I've not heard of this. I'll have to look into it.

We used this with mixed results. My son still has hearing sensitivity but his ability to hear and understand speech has improved since using this. In particular, it helped him to distinguish between sounds within words. He still has language issues though since he has trouble correlating words with meaning - Donna Williams talks about being "meaning blind" when it comes to language and this seems to describe a lot of my son's difficulties. But his ability to decipher the words being spoken to him has improved a lot. If your child seems to have good language comprehension with the written word but struggles with spoken language you will probably see the most "bang for your buck" so to speak. I think it was worthwhile for my son and have no qualms about recommending the program to others. As I already said, we still have major struggles with language comprehension but we no longer struggle with difficulties in hearing accurately if that makes any sense...
