Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We had a tough week with different special needs. Everyone seems worn thin. I've been wondering how this situation can be "good, pleasing, and perfect" as St Paul describes the Will of God. On my way to Mass yesterday, I realized that by simply continuing with our Catholic life: Mass on Sundays, Confession as oftn as possible, daily Rosary, I'm giving my children an example of steadfastness with God despite trials.

When my children grow up, they will face trials. At least I will have given the example of not giving up with my religious practices. This is a consolation amid trials.

Your right, Helen. If you can't give them anything else, you can give them a good example. I'm sorry it's been rough. If it's any comfort you are an excellent example for the rest of us moms too.

Thanks Bridget -- coming from you, that compliment means a lot!!

I was trying to say that I wasn't very joyful with my Crosses. I didn't remember to offer them up enough and I felt I hadn't offered my children good example. However, despite my failings, there was good example.

Helen,
I am praying for you. I am often not joyful enough in the carrying of my crosses, especially lately. January is a difficult month for our family and the sorrow seems to become overwhelming. But our faith will see us through!

THanks for the prayers Jennifer. Things have been much better this week.
