Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

How do you keep your chin up? How do you keep cheerful when you embarrassed your own self in response to raising your children?

how about this:

#1 God only had 2 kids when He started and still He couldn't keep them in line.

#2 Know that pretty much no matter what it is, there's worse, you aren't the first parent it's happened to and you probably won't be the last.

#3 There's always room for improvement. If you see a problem, all you can do is learn from it and try to do better from there on out and pray your kid does the same.

At least, that's what I tell myself when I get done blubberring all over my poor dh about similiar things.

Good point. I know worse. This isn't worse but you'd think I would have learned a little more by now. Sigh.

Certainly there is room for improvement. Sometimes there is so much room for improvement I allow myself to become discouraged and try to hide my head in the sand (or in the computer). Thank you for the friendly and gentle reminders!

Our poor husbands, I think God must have a special place in heaven for spouses and parents who help carry the extra burdens of their loved ones.
