I notice there is a Charlotte Mason book discussion going on. Are there any takers on discussing a book of a religious nature? I used to go to a Bible Study and miss it. I gleaned so much from other ladies on their journey with the Lord.
Just a thought.

I would do it. Can you believe -- I have never been to a Bible Study???

Paula,
Great! Maybe we could think of a book that we all have so we would'nt have to go out and buy one. Of course there is the Bible, but I don't claim to be a Bible scholar, although I have a great love for it.
I loved the way Mother Angelica on EWTN would sit there with the Bible in front of her and talk about just a few verses at a time.
I am reading the book How to be Happy How to be Holy by Fr. O'Sullivan.
Just the chapter on the power of making the Sign of the Cross alone gave me days worth of medition and sadness on how much I have taken that holy gesture for granted!
God is so good and gives us so much.

In another thread a group of forum members are preparing to do a book discussion on The Hidden Power of Kindness starting very soon.

I do not have either of those books. Are there any ladies out there that have The Imitation of Christ by Kempis? I read parts of it years ago and there are a lot of Bible references.
This would be a little gem for the upcoming Lenten season.
Again, just another thought.

St. Louis de Montfort in True Devotion often quotes from the Bible. His explanation of the the role of Rebecca in Jacob and Esau is phenomenal.
(Although it is not a bible study per se.)

Wonderful!
I read The Secret of the Rosary by Montfort years ago. I love this saint. We are blessed to have a Catholic bookstore in our town and I'm pretty sure they will have it. I will look forward to reading True Devotion to Mary.

Marianne,
The text of True Devotion to Mary is available online here. You don't have to buy the book, so please join us at Hidden Treasure to discuss!

I went ahead and bought both books and should have them Tuesday. I need some reading for myself these days! Between these two and the Charlotte Mason series I bought, I should be good for a few weeks, eh?
