Does anyone know whether the Feast of the Annunciation gets bumped to another day this year? My calendar says "Easter Tuesday." Catholic Culture says each day in the octave of Easter is a solemnity so I guess the Annunciation takes a back seat. Does anyone know?
We'll still plant our marigold seeds and probably have poppy seed muffins for tea time and read the page from the de Poala book on Mary like we did last year.
Blessings,

I had completely forgotten so thanks for the reminder. According to the Priests for Life website, it is March 31st this year.

My Church calendar also states March 31st.
That gives the rest of us time to plan something! Any craft ideas out there that you can share? Thanks!
Happy Easter!!

Here is a news article from 2006. Did they really expect me to remember that information for two years? I barely remember what I had for breakfast!

I would love to hear what everyone is doing to celebrate.
Does anyone have good links to where I can print out some art work. I like to put a few different works up for the kids to look at.

We'll be making Angel Food Cake and making a little Mary table with angels in our prayer room.

Our parish is using the Annunciation as a Pro-life reminder.
On March 25th a poster was put up of life at conception. On the 25th of each month a new poster will be put up to show the baby at one month, two months, ect. until December 25th...there will be a picture of baby Jesus.

Here are some old threads: March Artist Study includes the beautiful image of the Annunciation by Fra Angelico.
Solemnity of the Annunciation
Day of the Unborn Child
I think there should be a push to make this a Holyday of Obligation, to push the prolife message. The Incarnation is such a beautiful reminder of life from the moment of conception.
We're finishing up our rosary boxes and praying the mystery of the Annunciation today.

For the feast...
- we redid an Advent atrium presentation (I posted a picture here)
- We read Horton Hears a Who
- Said the Angelus
- Talked about and prayed for the unborn babies growing so small in their Mommy's wombs like baby Jesus
