Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

While looking for online sign language dictionaries, I found this one that seems especially useful:

ASL PRO

It has video clips of all the signs, plus an extensive dictionary of religious signs, including some useful Catholic ones. There are separate sections for "baby signs" and quizzes too.

Home someone can find this helpful!

ETA: looking around some more I noticed you can even sign in as a teacher to customize your own quizes! I'm getting too excited about this, I'd better go make lunch or something

I used this years ago when Ryan was signing a bit. It was very helpful.

For Christmas I am planning to get the children a few of the Signing Time DVDs that Lissa is using for her little guy. I have heard from many people that they are wonderful.

The Signing Time site has some wonderful resources. They even have free, downloadable activity books to practice the signs. This is an amazing program. My littles and I watched vol. 1 the yesterday and all three of them (incluidng my almost 3 yo) were showing daddy the signs last night at dinner -- and this after just one viewing!

I think I'm going to have to get all three of the first ones and some flash-cards -- my littles are having so much fun with this!
