I wrote this for all of my sisters out there.....

"Sisters In Chaos"

We have special kids
one or two
four or more
other factors of chaos
financial
family
and there is our unspoken sorority
where rush week entails
the ball thrown hard into your gut
knocking the wind out of you
as you hear your child
explained to you
by doctors who hand your
heart to you on a platter with hearty doses
of humility and pain.
Becoming fierce...
(because all Sisters in Chaos are fierce)
you rise up
lifted by the One Who Chose You
to carry on
to carry your child
to be carried in prayer
Walking through the fog and haze
of diagnoses
with your little light
bumping into other Sisters
laughing, crying, understanding
without many words spoken.

As we pass through the halls
of fatigue
we recognize the beauty of
our lives with little souls
who are making us become
who we are...slowly.
We help each other see
Why?
is the wrong question
(in this class, there are wrong questions)
A waste of time...so we ask....
How
How can I get this all done?
We cry out to one another,
Our little lights combining to illuminate
our large sorority house,
Laughing at yet
another unanswerable
question

We make our ways
back to kiss the sweet heads
and little hands
of those
Who need us

The little ones sure are little lights. They make it so worth while.    I am praying for your little ones Pete and Lily as you suffer with Our Lord and His Mother.
