No, not odd, but ODD. Oppositional Defiance Disorder. Anyone know anything about this....have a child diagnosed with it....found relief without medication?

I have a child diagnosed with this. She is now 19. Would you prefer to "talk" through PM or on the board? Either works for me.
Blessings,
Krisann

I do not know anything about ODD, however my daughter has RAD. I know I have heard Nancy Thomas speak of ODD as she speaks of RAD. So maybe her website would help.
Love,
Margaret

I am sorry, I posted incorrectly on my last post . I checked the book that I have When Love is not Enough by Nancy Thomas, and I did not see anything about ODD (I should have checked before I posted ). I also checked with my dh and he said he did not remember anything about ODD in any of her talks. I think my confusion is hearing a family say that their son has ODD at our week that we spent with Nancy that was for RAD children. In that case maybe Nancy's technique would help with ODD, but again, I do not know anything about it. Sorry for the incorrect posting and any confusion.
Love,
Margaret

Kathleen, We may have a more up to date book, than Margaret, because my book "When Love is Not Enough" by Nancy Thomas does list ODD on p. 14. I would also be happy to speak with you through pm. We just returned from one of Nancy Thomas's camps. Let me know.

Food intollerance often plays are large part.
Have you looked into the failsafe diet? It's a chemical elimination diet to see which foods (natural and additives)cause problems. Often we can't see what these foods are until you take all possible things out and re-introduce them one at a time.
Google Sue Dengate. She believes that most ODD symptoms can be eliminated through diet.
