Claude Monet, born Nov. 14, 1840 in Paris, and died December 5, 1926. According to Web Museum Monet was a:
Quote:
French painter, initiator, leader, and unswerving advocate of the Impressionist style. He is regarded as the archetypal Impressionist in that his devotion to the ideals of the movement was unwavering throughout his long career, and it is fitting that one of his pictures--Impression: Sunrise (Musée Marmottan, Paris; 1872)--gave the group his name. |

Biographies of Monet need to be read with care to your children - he had an affair before the death of his wife, a woman he later married.
Monet was troubled with failing sight near the end of his life, but painted up until his death.

Dear Amy,
Monet is also one of my favorite painters and my girls love his work also. Thanks for the great start I have wanted to cover his work in our art lessons for ages, you have just given me the inspiration and tools to start.
Thank you so much for the idea.
God Bless
Chemai

Thanks from me, too, Amy! You've really been the inspiration to keep our artist and composer studies going. I appreciate so much your deciding and posting on the new studies each month.

A couple of free Monet paintings to color or paint. One suggestions I saw is to use chalks in pastel colors and blend. Watercolor pencils would be fun, I think I'll try that. Wonder if I can get watercolor paper through the printer?

I was inspired by this posts on Ana Braga-Henebry's Blog
Little Monets, which mentions the DVD of Linnea in Monet's Garden
