What a quandry! Post this in Catholic Mosaic? Living Faith or Our Lady's Loom?
Since St. Brigid's feast is February 1st, and Catholic Mosaic has Brigid's Cloak as one of the books, I was just going to suggest making a St. Brigid's Cross for the feastday activities.
I found a variety of instructions and also interesting information on St. Brigid and customs, so I'm just posting the lot and you can pick and choose which version you prefer!

How to Make a Brigid's Cross
Has anyone seen these publications?

St. Brigid, follow link for instructions for the Cross Use Caution with this site.
It is customary on St. Brigid's Day to make a Cross -- known as a "St. Brigid's Cross" -- out of rushes or reeds (other materials may be used if no rushes or reeds are available). Once the Cross is woven, it is blessed with holy water and with the words
May the blessing of God, Father, Son and Holy Ghost be on this Cross and on the place where it hangs and on everyone who looks on it.
It is then hung on the front doors of homes and left in place all year, to be burned and replaced with a newly-woven Cross on the next St. Brigid's Day.

In depth look Feast Day Customs part of a larger work . Some of this touches on the pagan customs, but it is interesting reading.

Jenn, this is awesome! You read my mind! Seriously, I have a to-do list in front of me, and the next item after 4Real Forum is *find Brigid cross instructions online*.
Thank You!

Hooray! I'm planning a St. Brigid's day activity for my homeschooling group. We'll also be making candles for Candlemas. If it's not raining, we'll be putting out bread and butter on the doorstep the night before!

Wow, Jenn, you're so awesome, we just got this book from the library and I love it, I'm saving it for feast day or just before . I had a link from Alice's on the cross and it's wonderful, I think it's similar to the one you sent. Thank you so much for all the great links they are perfect!

Jenn, I have a St. Brigid's cross hanging over my front door. I have always wanted to try my hand at making on for the back entryway. Thanks for the directions!
Love,

Thanks to you, we will be making St. Brigid crosses! I appreciate the links. The info is going right into my Catholic Mosaic binder.

I've always wanted to know how to make one! How cool!
(I wear a silver St. Brigid's cross all the time...it's amazing how many non-Catholics know exactly what it is!)
Thanks, Jenn!
