Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was wondering if it was here in these forums that I read about the relationship between decreased sunlight in the fall and winter months and an increase in tics in children who are prone to them. Can anyone help me with this? I would like to read about it again.
Thanks for your help!

You mean, in children with Tourette Syndrome?

I don't think there's any relation (at least none that I have read about.) TS -- and tics -- have waxing and waning cycles that don't (in my experience! ) have much to do with anything... except stress, I guess. In our house, my son's tics often get worse when he's forced to be in an environment where he needs to be quiet and behave (like church) or if he's not entirely "intellectually engaged" -- like doing doing spelling. His worse cycles have usually happened when I'm pregnant, because it makes him anxious. But often the tics come and go with no known cause at all. They appear and disappear and I have no idea where they came from, or why they went away.

If you find anything about seasonal changes affecting tics and Tourette Syndrome, though, I'd like to know about it! If you don't post it here, would you PM me?

I ahve to agree with Angela. The only correlation I can see in the waxing and waning is stress. But, my kids are outside even in the winter months though--so I don't know that I'd notice it.
