Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've read another book by Ned Hallowell. It was just wonderful Childhoood Roots of Adult Happiness   I think he's very insightful and positive.

Elizabeth,

I've considered purchasing these books because I need more information about ADD. I think my dh is ADD. Actually, it drives ME to distraction because of his behavior. LB has also been diagnosed with this along with his autism. I would love to hear more from people who have read these books.

Hallowell is fabulous.
My dh has add and the Hallowell books were what finally convinced him that the wasnt just lazy or stupid and he wasnt a "failure" for seeking treatment. The books are well written, insightful and easy reads despite all the info they contain. Dh recomends them although we havent read his ones for kids just the ones about adults.

Maggie

btw-dh is doing great...he is certainly a lot happier and functioning so much better. If you suspect somthing with you dc by all means it doesnt hurt to have an evaluation.

So which book or books would you recommend that someone start with in learning about an adult with possible ADD? How does the author feel about medication?
