Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have experience with Tourette Syndrome?

Augustin's sweet girlfriend has Tourette Syndrome. She is a wonderful young lady. I have learned a few things about Tourette from her.

Elizabeth,
I don't know if you caught it, but there was a discussion on CCM maybe 2-3 months ago on this topic and several people replied with personal experiences. I didn't respond at the time. We never had a diagnosis here, but my oldest could possible fall somewhere on the spectrum. He has mostly outgrown the tics he had, though mild ones surface again under stress.

I used to babysit for a little boy who had tourette syndrome. My older sister advised his mom that she should speak to a doctor about Matthew. He would bang his head on the wall and pull at his hair when upset with his sister or about something. I believe he was placed on medication which really helped. The last I heard (2001), he was doing very well.

Matthew was a wonderful little boy and a true joy to babysit. I am sure he is a wonderful young man, today!
