Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

It's funny, now.

We had to go to do some errands yesterday. Had to, and I knew my little Aspie was not going to be happy about it. So off we went, and every few minutes he asking to go back home. "Why can't you just drop us off? Sarah will watch us." etc. But we needed to buy some clothes too (horror of horrors, as far as he was concerned!) and so I needed them all with me. And we only went to one other store. But as we were checking out in Mervyn's (which the store WAS hot, and the check lines were long, and he had been complaining the whole time) anyway, as we check out, the cashier is talking to them, asking about school (I had gotten some of the uniform polos cuz they were cheap ) and Jaiden starts talking to her (which is funny in itself since he usually wont talk to anyone.)and of course the fact that we homeschool comes up, so Jaiden tells her, "Yes, I guess that means we have to go to school all the time." She laughs and says something about taking a nap when you want - and he answers - "No, actually she makes me run all over the neighborhood!" Now - you have to understand - it is like 112 degrees here, and I knew he meant me taking him on errands today - but this woman looked at me like I should get the "Worst Mom in the World Award" that I would make this child run around the neighborhood in a zillion degree heat as some sort of PE class. DD17 was no help, as she was cracking up. I tried to explain, no, that isn't what he means, but of course I sounded pathetic, I am sure.
