Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone have a favorite approach to teaching reading for dc with delayed speech.
I am thinking of using "TEACH YOUR CHILD TO READ IN 100 EASY LESSONS"
My 5 yo still struggles making some sounds, blending, getting the sounds in the right order and he drops the first sound in lots of words.
I thought this book would be helpful with saying it slow and fast. Any thoughts?

I don't have any answers but my dd has the same problem. I was planning on using the same book too.

I'll be interested in any answers you get.

I tried "TEACH YOUR CHILD TO READ IN 100 EASY LESSONS" with my oldest speech delayed son and he hated it. For us, a much better fit came with Phonics Pathways. It is very thorough and really taught phonics well. It can be a bit boring, but I was able to be a bit creative with it.

My younger two really didn't like it and were a LOT less willing to use it. My middle son got about halfway through before I abandoned it for living books. My youngest absolutely refuses to use it but wants to learn to read - I'll be using mostly "real books" to teach him.
