Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Once Christina outgrows the stroller, it may be time for the harness, though I cringe at the thought of the looks I will get! Anything is better than a tragedy, however.
Taffy, we try to allow Christina the responsibility of holding our hands or to a shopping cart, but she bolts anyway, or falls limp.
I suppose time will bring more maturity.

Walmart used to sell monkey backpacks with leashes for about $10. That helped us with our 4-year-old runaway. A plain leash or harness brought tsks, but for some reason the monkey leash brought lots of approving smiles, questions about where we got it, etc.

About the only wisdom I can offer, since I'm drowning, myself!

I am laughing Celeste at "monkey backpacks with leashes". Although I must admit, that the more I think about it, this might be a good solution for my five year old who personifies "Curious George" in all ways. He has gotten bolder since the birth of dd who is 8 months. He knows that Mom (me!) is less able to keep track of him and "grab him" when he escapes or goes off. It is a huge challenge when I am without some of my older ones to help out.

Monkey leash ???!! Maybe not a bad idea!
