Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Now that's fun -- and not even messy.

Thanks for sharing this.

Peace,
Nancy

Thanks Mary M. -- that is very cool and with JP, it's a lot neater than the real thing!

I wish we'd seen this yesterday! All the pumpkins were sold out here weeks ago and I didn't buy one as I certainly couldn't keep it in the fridge and we discovered our first year here that pumpkins cannot be left out as decor in the tropics - ick!

So we ended up with pie pumpkins last night. Those suckers were harder than Acorn Squash! Who knew? By the end I wanted to sink a hatchet through the top and leave it there! But I grabbed an orange and hollowed it out real quick and gave that to Marianna to carve while Hal and I chipped away at the 2 pumpkins.

It was either an orange or a potato but no one was buying the whole Irish yarn I was spinning last night...

I posted a picture of her Orange and a silly little story we kept teasing her with and elaborating upon all night. That's what comes of studying History I guess! The orange got a little scorched by the end of the night but it smelled really good while burning! And if I'd had those tiny tealights to put inside, it probably would have helped prevent the scorching!

it's good to have older children to help carve the pumpkin.

Otherwise, I doubt ours would have gotten carved.
