Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Ummm... Yeah... I'm afraid to give a direct answer to that one, Mary! Actually, I am *clearing my calendar* in favor of this Series!

Peace,

I'm not going to watch, because I'm not really a baseball fan (much to my husband's chagrine). I am rooting for the Rockies, though. Boston won just a few years ago, and I think the Rockies have never won. I like the underdog. Maybe it comes from living with the Cubs. (We'll get 'em next year! )

Plus I love how the Rockies have shook up the science of baseball with their high-altitude field.

I was VERY sad that my D-backs got knocked out, but since they have, I would love to see the Rockies do well!

We're still not over it .

Now I'm torn. I'm a National League fan in general. When it comes to the American League, we're Red Sox fans and right about now I just plain can't get myself to cheer for the NL Rockies, the team that knocked us out of contention...yet...if the Red Sox can't hold up against the Rockies it will further validate our feelings that the Rockies are on some supernatural mystery ride and destiny is calling them to be champions this year.

I'm thinking way too much about this . Now I'm off to watch...

Love,

I don't think anyone here will be watching, my guys are still in mourning. They are fans of that team everyone loves to hate . If we are watching, you can bet we will be cheering for the Rockies. My sons have a picture of a license plate on their bedroom door that says SOXH8ER.    They might not like the Sox but we do like New Englanders.

I don't think I'll be able to watch. The pain is a bit too fresh here.

We're watching!

And... I heard a very funny comparison between football and baseball on the radio in my car this evening. I was so embarrassed because I was laughing so hard... in a car by myself... at a red light... where people were looking at me. But.. I still kept laughing. I needed a good laugh.

Although - when I mentioned to a friend that I heard this comedy routine - they knew who did it, etc. and informed me that I wouldn't want to hear any of his other material.      (And now I forget what the comedian's name was.)

Anyway -- my condolences to my Colorado friends -- this New England raised gal is cheering for the Bosox! But MaryM, I pulled out your baseball book list for the occasion!!

OK can I tell you I am soooo ignorant about sports that it took me this many posts to figure out what you all were talking about.   Rebecca was telling me something about the Indians playing, I thought that was the Super Bowl or whatever it is called, wait what is it called........I thought it was football season!

Thanks for the good laugh tonight (everyone who recommended it). I needed that

We're Reds fans here - no post-season hopes, but we'll be watching the series and enjoying the sport. Now for football, though, GO BUCKS! We watch a lot more college than professional...I guess that goes for basketball and even baseball too (we have a local single A farm team in town). Off on a tangent, rambling along...

God bless,
Christine

OK, folks -- all you sticking voodoo pins in the Rockies' dolls ... QUIT IT! At the beginning of the 6th, Bo-sox are winning 10-1!

At least it's only the first game

Okay -- we lost power this evening! And missed the whole middle of the game!! We got it back - just now - just in time to see the score be 13-1, and the last few pitches.

ah, maybe tomorrow....

GO ROCKIES!!!!

Oh and we are referring to it as the Seuss Series - yah know - Rox vs. Sox on Fox

Mary G. - you'll get a kick out of this. We realized we need to change the name of the street we live on!!! So we are going to make a sign to change it to Colorado Ct. (or Rockie Rd.) anything but B****N!
