Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi All!

I'm looking for a pizza crust recipe that could be made on reasonably short notice (say one hour or so). Anyone have a recipe they care to share? I have been having a really hard time finding one, beleive it or not, and I haven't had good experiences with the refrigerated crusts/dough at the grocery store. Thanks so much in advance!

Blessings,

Jenny

1 cup warm water(100-110 degrees)
1 tsp of sugar
1 pkg of rapid rise or Quick Red Star Yeast
1 tbl olive oil
2 1/2- 3 cups flour
dissolve sugar in warm water. Add yeast and wait 4-5
mins. ( the top of the water should be foamy)
Add olive oil, and mix in flour, one cup at a time, until you are able to handle. Knead briskly for a few minutes...place in a greased bowl, cover, and set in a draft free area....45-50 mins later ( or when doubled in
height) You are ready to roll, place on a greased pizza pan and top!!!! My oven cooks a large pizza in 12 mins...time may vary. Enjoy!! and good luck

I also want to mention that when we make homemade pizzas, we always make enough dough to have some crusts to freeze. I just cook them up and put them in large freezer bags. When it comes time to use them, I don't defrost them but just put the ingrediants on them and cook until cheese is melted.

We love pizza!

Thought I might as well share our pizza recipe too.

Dissolve 1 T rapid rise yeast in 3c warm water.
Add 1 T sugar, 1 T olive oil, and 1 c flour. Let it start to bubblel. Then add more flour to make a stiff dough. I think I add around 6-7 cups. It says to let kneed and let raise but I just need and roll it out right away. Normally I precook the crust a bit before adding the toppings. Please notice that this recipe does make quite a few crusts (around 4 I think).

Besides freezing the crusts, I also have used frozen bread (bun) dough. I defrost for a few minutes and then roll out. The kids get to make lots of little pizzas!
