Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone have a child with cavity prone teeth? My son has the worst teeth. I feel that I do everything I can but he constantly has cavities to be filled. He, at one point, was a severe teeth grinder which attributed to the problem but that seems to have stopped...but still more cavities.

Any ideas? Anyone dealt with this?

Yes!
My dd had 5-6 cavities by the time she was 3.5 It was TERRIBLE!!!

I didn't have a cavity until I was married!

We figured out it was the gummy vitamins we were giving the kids. Also, at the time I was anti-fluoride in toothpaste...not anymore. (I can't stand it in water, though). Also, I have my kids chew xylitol gum now...it seems to have helped.

I have friends who have had great success with the methods described in this book. I know two different families who were able to reverse and or stop in its tracks severe problems.

I am sure this is in the book Lindsay linked to but I would suggest looking into supplementing with magnesium. It is essential for strong bones and teeth but really lacking in most diets. I think this has helped stop my son's tooth decay.

Thank you for the suggestions, everyone! I will definitely look into that book.

Lindsay
Fascinating to know about your friends, my close friend has just begun the method with her child.

Maggie
I have wondered about my stance on fluoride myself.

I struggle with cavities and I'm the only one in our house that flosses daily. My husband has never had one and neither have the kids. When I go to the dentist the hygienist raves about how great my teeth look and I have hardly any plague and then the dentist comes in and looks at the xray . . . . .

I'm thinking Magnesium too and have been trying to supplement (I have other symptoms too). My hygienist thinks genetics plays a role in the health of our teeth too. She sees people like me and then those that don't even brush every day and they are cavity free.
