Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have always used the bounty papertowels in the rubbermaid container w/baby magic and baby oil.

I would like to try something different and maybe even more natural. Any suggestions?

Hey Jenny,

I use cloth wipes..I made myself when I owned my own cloth diaper accessory biz....have tons left over. They are flannel on one side and cotton velour on the other...serged round the edges. I fold them and place them in a plastic wipes box.

I make a mixture of purified water....a couple of squirts of Dr. Bronner's Castille soap, a couple of drops of Lavender essential oil for its anti-bacterial qualities, a couple of squirts of calendula oil (I make my own but you can buy it at the health food store) for its healing properties, and swoosh it together and pour it over the wipes in the box. The lavender oil keeps mine from getting funky...but if you have difficulty you can even put a drop of tea tree oil. I don't because I don't like the way it smells.

Hope that helps,
Kathleen

I use bounty paper towels with just water. Not very complicated or exciting but it works!

I don't pre-wet them. Just when I need them.

We just use water here as well. I used to use a solution with water, tto and lavendar oil, olive oil, and a little Dr Bronner's. The problem with that was the oil was building up on my wipes and diapers and so I had to strip the whole lot. I love the idea of using the essential oils because by using just plain water (in a wipe warmer no less) my stuff gets funky quickly and I have to wash out my wipe warmer often. Perhaps just the water and one of the essential oils wouldn't lead to any buildup.

I've cloth diapered 5 tushies and never had a problem with oil building up on the wipes or diapers. So sorry that happened to yours Beth. I love the smell of the solution...makes diaper changing a little less penitential.

God bless,
Kathleen
