Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Blessing number 3 is on his way home to us soon, I blogged the details here.

So I will have ds 4-1/2, and two 2yo sons, only 3 months apart. We're gonna be having some fun around here! And I'm sure I will have plenty of questions after the new year for other moms of twins and adoptive moms who have adopted older kids or from foster care (anyone like that here?).

I just wanted to share our good news. It's so wonderful to be "expecting" during Advent!

Congratulations!!!

There are quite a few of us on the boards who are adoptive parents, foster parents or both.

Dh and I are foster parents who have adopted 2 of our former foster children. On Halloween, we filed our petition to adopt a child who has been in our home since February. We also have 2 living biological children.

Best of luck on your journey and keep us posted!!

That's fabulous! We adopted our JBug at the age of three from foster care. She is six now and what a blessing she is to our family!

Oh, how wonderful to have a few other moms on the forums who've adopted from foster care specifically. This is new territory for us - our first two were adopted at birth.

Lisa, how old was Hannah when you brought her home? How old will Rachel be? Is her adoption affected by the slowdown in Chinese adoptions?

Laura, do you know yet what type of adoption you will be pursuing? Will this be your first adoption?

We adopted Hannah when she was 20 months old. She'll be 3 in February. Rachel just turned 1 on October 19, 2007. So if we go in January she'll be 15 months. We aren't too affected by the slowdown as both the girls were on the waiting child list with special needs. They both have cleft lip/palate. Rachel's palate is still open and will have to be closed soon after she comes home.    Not looking forward to that at all!

So excited for you!!!

hi - congratulations!

We adopted our son at 18mo - he is now 4 (nearly!) and we just adopted our daughter at 6months - she is the youngest child placed locally.

Have fun with your beautiful children.

So happy for you! Our youngest is adopted and is 10 weeks younger than his barely-older sister. They are both 2 now, and it is very busy and joyful!

Heather,

Your blog said you were going to have a meeting yesterday with your ds's social worker to discuss a plan. How did it go? Do have a placement date?
