Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Since I think that we've missed several days on the "Challenge," I'll post again today.

Another of ds5's current favorites: The Surprise Visitor, by Juli Kangas

kewords: egg surprise turtle bird squirrel lost found nest mother mouse

"virtues" friendship hospitality caring

This book is about a mouse who discovers an egg at his front door and so embarks on an attempt to find it's mother -- or at least a suitable adoptive mom. The egg gets "improved/beautified" along the way, but is finally reunited with its mother right before hatching. I love the illustrations of the forest.

This is a great book, Janette!

We laughed so hard at the term "roundish thing" and have been using it all day today for absolutely everything! Why is it so funny?
