Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Katje the windmill cat by Gretchen Woelfle, very nice story! based on true story from Holland in 1421.

the pictures are wonderful with little delft pictures along the side.

this story was good for us as our home was flooded in Tropical storm allison AND my father in law is from HOlland!

Great! Thanks...I was asking about this kind of book in this thread. I must drive Elizabeth crazy because I'm always changing topics in one thread.

And I LOVE Delft....kind of all ties in together emotionally. I have a special Delft jar inherited from my recently deceased grandmother who lived in Houston...with all the hurricane talk I was really thinking about my childhood there.

Natalia:

Delft is the blue and white pottery that comes from Holland -- here's a link to a store where you can see what I'm talking about: Blue Delft.

Thanks for posting about this book -- it sounds great AND my library HAS IT!
