Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

On Sunday, June 12, my three year old, David, (I'm his permanent legal guardian--long, complicated story.....sigh) will be baptized. My 12 and 7 y.o. dd's want to make him a Baptism Book. We bought a white album at the scrapbook store and have some gold lettering. We plan a page welcoming him into the Church, a bit about his patron, a page for godparents, pages for photos, narrations they have done relating the story of Noah's Ark and the Israelites crossing the Red Sea as pre-figures of Baptism, Christ's Baptism by St. John, etc....and would like to flesh this out as a study on Baptism for the girls. Has anyone done this? Any suggestions for a place to find clip art or cool Baptism-related pictures on the web? They are excited to make this and give it to him as their gift. Such sweet girls!

What a beautiful idea! I will try to remember this if we have any more additions to the family. I know my kiddos would love to put something like this together for a new baby.

This is such an incredible idea. What a keepsake for David--and what a learning experience for them. Here is a link to some clip art you might be able to use. Two Hearts Design is another nice resource. If I find anything else, I will let you know.

Thanks, Alice, for the links. We are having such fun with this project. I highly recommend it to all for your next baby, or friend's baby--any excuse!! Jane and Anne are so excited and this really will be a lovely rememberance book for David to keep. Annie, age 7, said that maybe someday David's children could learn about Baptism from his book. javascript:AddSmileyIcon('')

Oooh, how I would love to do it for a "next" baby. Maybe you could keep that intention in your prayers!
