Well we love going to the 8 am mass.
10 and noon are just bears to get through because that's naps and lunch times - dead ringers for at least 2 of them to be a bit bratty. 
We usually go to the 5 pm mass if a kid wakes up yukky because often they feel much better after they get up and about for a bit. I'd rather take a stab at us all going than going solo and leaving some at home. Worst case, it's just me and whatever non-sick older ones at the 5 pm mass.
What do you do in these situations?

Martha,
If a child is sick, dh and I go to Mass in shifts. I stay home w/ the sick child while he goes to Mass w/ the others, then I go to Mass later by myself.

oh I should clarify here..
my dh is not catholic. He will go with us as a family, and he will take kids to kid events - but he will not go to mass w/o me.

Where we used to live, Bill would stay with the sick kid and go to evening mass even though he isn't Catholic. There was an evening mass he preferred to the prot service (which he could have made it to if I rushed back) or our usual morning mass. If they were really sick, he took the others to mass, and I would go later.
For the sick non-communcants I don't worry too much if they miss mass, but I have to admit our kids don't seem to get sick Sundays.

Mine also almost never get sick on Sundays, but if they do, usually dh or I or both of us are sick too  (so we all stay home and watch mass on EWTN  )
I'm with you Martha, the 8am mass is so wonderful at our church...very quiet and the lights are a little dimmer...a much more contemplative environment than the loud, free-for-all that the 9:30 and 11am masses sometimes are!

We only have access to one service on Sunday. If a child is unexpectedly sick, one of us has to stay home. However if it is contagious like the stomach flu we all stay home. My dh would go by himself and sit apart from the congregation.
