Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Could someone recommend a book to read about Pope Benedict? Or maybe a book written by himself? I'm embarressed to say I've read quite a bit by or about Pope John Paul II but nothing on our present one. Any suggestions?

Ignatius Press calls itself the Pope's publisher as they have been the publisher of Cardinal Ratzinger's works for many years. Here is the link to their Pope Benedict titles. I've read Salt of the Earth and Spirit of the Liturgy. I've heard that his autobiography, Milestones which covers the period from 1927-1977, is very interesting.

I'm reading "God's Choice" by the same gentleman who wrote "Witness to Hope." While the beginning of the book does focus on Pope John Paul II's legacy to the Church, I'm learning a great deal about how Pope Benedict gave up a brilliant scholarly life in order to serve the Church he loves so much. It's a great book.

I'm glad to hear about these great suggestions. Although there are many books written by and about him, I have little time and many interesting books already going. My nightstand is a testimony of that! Thanks!
