Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Dawn,
Thanks for posting this...I bought these at a conference a few years ago and my girls looooved them! Here's the site/vendor I bought mine from Illuminated Ink. They have lots of other neat stuff!
God bless,

We did the Guadalupe ones and they were wonderful.

We did one, too, and I highly recommend them. Ours was a cooperative effort between the four children and there was plenty for each to do. The finished product is very sturdy, and still sits in our kitchen window. The plan is to hang it on the wall, but I keep forgetting to buy hooks...

Oh, I am so glad to hear this is a nice craft to make ! I am going to order the Our Lady of Lourdes kit in honor of her feast day this weekend.

We did the Our Lady of Guadalupe one too and loved it. Actually the grotto idea was a springboard for making a set of Stations of the Cross last lent. We made a grotto for each station from popsicle sticks and colored and pasted pictures of each station. Even did the decorative pebbles.   We actually have a lovely outdoor Stations of the Cross at the Passionist monastery not too far from us, but if the weather was bad or time was limited on Fridays in Lent, we would just line up our grotto stations in our long hallway and have our devotion there.

Mary Ann, I LOVE this idea, of making the Stations at home to use with your family! What a child-friendly activity, and what lovely memories you are making !

We loved the grotto kits, too. I just sent one to my niece, and hope to hear soon how she liked it.

I credit the grotto kits with helping my daughter begin her great devotion to Our Lady of Guadalupe.

The Stations idea is great!

We made one just like these, but without the kit. Just used popsicle sticks, aquarium gravel, and a downloaded pic of Our Lady of Fatima. It was much cheaper than the kits because it was stuff we had on hand. I think we will do Lourdes this weekend-great idea!

Lent and Easter in the Domestic Church has a description for making the stations a family-friendly project, much as Mary Ann described above. They even have coloring pages, one for each station. I would imagine doing them outside (weather permitting!) would be lovely, with new life all around.

Thank you Mary Ann for mentioning this activity! I'm adding it to my Lent/Easter folder (my attempt at actually doing, and not just imagining this year ).
