Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Ladies I just had to share my dear friend Mary & I went with the kids on a field trip today to the Shrine of Blessed Vasyl Velychkovsky . It made our day . To top it off it is now snowing ! The kids were so impressed with the life of this man . There was a 9min video , many articles such as mini chalice he always carried , vestments , even books of orginal correspondences with the Pope during occupation of Ukraine . All which were written in code apparently . The boys loved this .
It was a very humbling expereince listening & learning about his life in the artic russian prison camps etc.
I'd really been down lately reagding our church here in Canada lately etc. so it was very inspiring to step back and spend time in the presence of holiness . You know it is real by the effect on your children
The church itself being Ukranian is full of Byzantine art visual aides are also very inspiring
just had to share

Oh Roxie - thanks for sharing that news. The shrine sounds very interesting. I love to find out about these less well known venerables, blesseds, and saints.

We are currently finding out more about the soon to be canonized saints that we don't really know.
