Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

When we learn about India, in our Around the World, I'd like to learn about Mother Teresa with my children. You probably remember that we are not Catholic, however, I'd love to take a peek at whatever resources that you love.

I'm specifically looking for:

*children's books
*coloring pages
*ONE favorite, great book for ME to read to learn about her myself. This can be a biographical book OR a book of encouragement, service, etc.
*any activities, lesson plans, craft ideas, etc.
*anything else you have on her that I might not know about! :)

THANK YOU!!

P.S. Not sure if this is the appropriate board for this question, feel free to move. :)

No problem, Candace. I was busy looking for other archived threads anyway, and it didn't take much to add these as well.

I was trying to think of crafts. Have you seen the "spoon saints" that were create by the very creative Alice Gunther? I couldn't find a specifc Mother Teresa on her blog, but did find a Mother Teresa spoon saint example that Jessica made last year. Check out the other ideas on her blog post, too.

Those are super cute!

I think I could use one of the ideas for another saint to do one for Mother Teresa. Showing my ignorance here, but is there a certain color that would be appropriate for Mother Teresa? Or does it matter?

Thanks!

Do you mean skin tone? or habit (clothing)?

The habits is what I'm wondering about - I noticed on Alice's picture some of their clothing is different colors. Thanks!

Oh and thank you for the suggestion of Come Be My Light, my library has that one and a few others. I have reserved them all and will look through them to see which ones look good!

ETA: Oh wow, I am reading the link you posted just now about the book, Come Be My Light. I knew she had struggled with depression some. I also struggle with depression (as I just posted on that depression thread in the other board) but can't imagine living the 2nd half of my entire life with it. Wow. I also can't imagine continuing on for so many years and being so faithful admist all of the struggle. What a strong, faithful woman of God!!
