Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

A friend was reading this christian publication:
Secrets of the Vine
and I was wondering if anyone ever heard of it? Do you know of any problematic areas that I should consider when reading any publications like this? I always feel weird about christian publications especially if I don't know what kind of areas to weed through with proper discernment.

TIA!

God love you,

I have not read it, but I did read the reviews from the Amazon link you provided. Look at the review by David Robinson - his review addresses what I consider fairly critical theological areas of this parable. I work with children at level 2 in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd and Mr. Robinson hits on some of the areas on which we focus with the children (the verb "remain", the fact that there are two actions (by God and by man - our action is a response to HIS)), etc. If the author of the book misses what CGS considers to be basic theology for 1st-3rd graders (and my experience totally confirms!), than I am personally wary of the book itself.

HTH!
