Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Since becoming Catholics 1 1/2 years ago, our family has made it a habit to go to Confession together. You know what I've noticed? It doesn't matter how horrendous the week or day may have been, after we've all been absolved, it's like we're glowing. Like we can't love one another enough. I'm really not talking about an emotional experience but it's more a freedom from the burden of the sin we were previously carrying. I never would have believed it before I experienced it myself. Just thought I'd share a bit of my thankful heart tonight. I really have very few friends in real life to share such a thing with. Besides my husband and 1 close Catholic friend, all the others in my life are Protestant so I know they wouldn't get it. Thanks for listening.

I know too. We go to Penance services and Confession together during Advent and Lent, and even go with Grandma and their Aunt, and just want to jump for joy when we do that!
