Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am looking for ideas for the feast of the Immaculate Conception. I tried the archives but nothing came up. I know there is some good ideas floating around here somewhere.

I know many people who serve an all-white meal. My friend makes white buns and makes them into rosettes. Today might be a good day to read about St. Bernadette, the saint that Mary trusted to relay the message that she was indeed The Immaculate Conception.

Hope that helps,

Elizabeth

This is the day we put white ornaments on our Christmas tree which we symbolically decorate each day of Advent. We are also this year going to start a Mary candle on that day for the first time. Learned about it here last year.

There are a couple of old threads with some info:
Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
Celebrating the Immaculate Conception
Help with craft ideas had specific Immaculate Conception craft suggestions

November 27th is the anniversary of the Miraculous Medal, so you can be preparing between then to the feast of the Immaculate Conception.

And Anne's Miraculous Medal Prayer Petition Mobile is absoluttely stunning and would be perfect for this feast day celebration (as would any use of the MM image for decorating). I believe Dawn and Helen had specific decorations they made along the MM theme last year as well. I'll add them if I can find them.

There is also a connection with the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe which I wrote about last year:
Her feast day falls just a few days after the feast of the Immaculate Conception. Interestingly, the apparition of Mary to Juan Diego is one of the first apparitions of Virgin Mary as the Immaculate Conception. In the image she is pregnant - encinta in Spanish, meaning "with a ribbon around her waist" which is the sign of pregnancy in the old Spanish world. It is providential that the feast of the Immaculate Conception and the feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe fall in Advent. It gives us an opportunity to focus on Mary, who has been called the bridge between the Old Testament and the New Testament - between expectation and fulfillment.

EDITED to add:Dawn's ideas from last year which includes the great ornament idea!

I'm not finding one on Helen's blog so it must have been someone else, but can't remember.
