Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have noticed this book mentioned by a number of people here. Can someone tell me about it? I am looking for some more interesting ways to teach the Faith.
Thanks!

Molly, did you read this thread? I thought it gave some good examples of what this book is about.

I read this book as a little girl just for enjoyment. It's a living book and quite captivating. But in the story there are great catechism lessons woven into the story.

I will second, third, fourth the recommendation for this book. I got it last year for my then 13 yo ds to read after finishing up our other religion studies for the year, and just assigned a chapter a week for him to read. I enjoyed it so much I finished it in a day or two myself!

We love it and are doing it as a read-aloud. Just a little heads up though, there is one spot about babies in Limbo that may need to be discussed re more recent teachings.
