Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anne-Catherine's FHC is in 6 weeks. She has been going to weekly RE classes at the parish and we've been reading through the second grade Faith and Life text. Even though we only have a few weeks left I'd like to do a notebook with her. I'm off to search old posts but do you have any suggestions? Things I must include and things I can leave out? Book suggestions?
Thanks
Jennifer
PS And thanks for all the hand holding! My idea of homeschooling has been changing the last few weeks and I'm a little nervous.

Jennifer,

Using the Magnificat and some holy cards from CHC, Thomas/Maggie and I put together their own missals -- each day or so I'd put together the actual prayers/responses and we'd go over these and talk about them and then they'd decorate them as they wished. I also copied some pages of a Pauline Media coloring book, The Holy Mass Coloring and Activity Book, so they'd have some different things in their missals.

I printed them sideways so that the final pages would each be 5-1/2 by 8-1/2 and would fit in the smaller binders. Because they decorated the pages as they wanted, they really enjoy looking at the Holy Cards that they chose as they go through the Mass with the book.

Of course, also use Weight of a Mass, the catechisms and all the other things you can find. If you have a good Pastor, ask him to show your daughter the altar and vestments, etc.....

Here's one post on FHC notebooks. I'm not finding anything else that just jumps out at me.
