Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I just posted on my blog about a neat new hobby we picked up called Letterboxing and thought some of you may like it, too. It's a great way to get outdoors and see some new places! It involves following clues to boxes hidden all over the world (you can search for ones near you!) and collecting rubber stamp images from the box, while leaving behind a stamp image of your own.
The kids are having a blast! We are leaving for the NC coast tomorrow and plan on hunting down some more while we are there.
For a better explanation check out my blog here:Letterboxing

Theresa, I just heard about this from a homeschooling neighbor. She said they used to school in the mornings and spend all afternoon every day hiking and doing letterboxing. She said it was the only way to wear out her ADHD kid. I think it sounds like a great family hobby.

We just got back from doing this (having read your blog earlier today!) Anyway, it was fun. We found two boxes. There are many more in the area, just couldn't get to all of them at one time. We are making plans to plant our own boxes around town too. It's funny, when I told my daughter about it this morning, she said she already had heard of it in the Family Fun issue last month - I remember her making her own stamps. She just didn't understand what the whole letterboxing thing was. I think I scanned the article myself, but didn't pay it much attention. Sometimes it takes a nudge from somebody you know doing it to get me to take notice. Anyway, thanks again, Theresa.
