Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I did a search but couldn't find a post that dealt with this topic specifically, although... that doesn't mean it doesn't exist...knowing my searching skills.

I'm looking to supplement our American History read-a-louds just in case Mama's hands are full. My gang is Pre-K-6, so looking for themes that are friendly to that age group. I'm following six of Homeschool in the Woods History Units (in bold below with what I have so far):

Explorers

Colonial Life
Carry on Mr. Bowditch
Squanto

American Revolution
Thomas Jefferson, Weiss

1800s
Gone West, Weiss
American Tall Tales, Weiss

Civil War
Abraham Lincoln, Weiss

Industrial Revolution - Great Depression
Little House on the Prairie et al
Old Sam Thoroughbred Trotter

Thanks Monica! I always forget to check librivox! I need to hire a teenager to come over and set up audio files on my computer. They would be much faster than I would be.
