Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm sure I'm not the first person to think of this but we had so much fun with this today, that I thought I'd submit as an idea.

We received a Fisher Price toys catalog that the kids have devoured. Today my 5 and 6 yo sat down and we went through the catalog and we practiced addition and subtraction, reading numbers, colors, shapes, counting, months, etc. This would work with any catalog, but mine were so thrilled I was looking at their (currently) favorite catalog that we could do math for about 20 min ith no complaints!

Hope this helps!

Great idea, Mary!

Once we were doing something similar with the junk mail catalogues and my youngest, then 4, was looking at the babies in the babywear section in the K Mart catalogue.

He got so excited - Mum, quick, look, they are selling babies for only ten dollars. Can we buy one - or two?

Too cute!    Reminds me of a time when my 3 1/2 year old was 1 1/2. He was such a happy, friendly baby! One day in a restaraunt a little boy (only child) saw him and insisted to his parents that they must buy my baby. They ended up taking him from the restaraunt in tears because he couldn't take Noah home with him on the spot! It broke my heart because his parents felt that they couldn't handle having another baby, and the boy so wanted a sibling!

We have done this with American Girl catalogs. It is great for copy work also, they have to write down everything they want .
