Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

HI,
I have noticed some very fun celebrations on your blogs. I’m always thinking: I wish I had though of that!!
Like:
Shakespeare’s Birthday
Arbor Day
Dr. Suess’s Birthday
I’m trying to get ahead for next year.
I try to do some special saints and feasts, but, I would like to do more and do better next year.
Trying to be better organized!
Does anyone have a list of dates to remember that they wouldn't mind sharing
Thank you!

Dawn earlier recommended a book called Literature for Lively Lessons. We checked it out and I think I'm going to actually purchase it. It has lots of great dates by month all in one place - plus ideas for picture books/read alouds to go along.

There was a thread on this topic, too. There are many links to internet sites which also have this type of information.

What I did was go through some of these calendars, picked the dates I wanted to do and remember and transfered those particular ones to my planning calendar so I'd see them each month and remember ahead of time.

Did you receive the Spring 2007 CHC Catalog?

There is a wonderful article in there, "Ten Things I Wish I'd Known When I Began Homeschooling" by Nancy MacArthur. In "The 365-Day Drawer" she writes that she purchased 365 Manilla Envelopes, then she jotted down information in each envelope regarding a feast day, like a brief biography/prayer/picture, or even where to find a story for that day, a craft that could be done, maybe a holy card for that saint, etc... Then she added to this later by putting in reminders of when to start a novena, when to send Birthday cards, etc...

So for sure you could add those other neat days you were referring to!
