Very sweet book and lovely illustrations about a scarecrow that leaves his pole and listens to the bedtime prayer of a little boy.

Scarecrow stories and Autumn just seem to go together!

We got this book from the library and I was surprised about some of the reviews it got at Amazon - seems some read a lot more into the imagery and the story than I did!

I just thought it was a nice way to show my boys that other little boys do say their bedtime prayers!

Has anyone else seen this book? What did you think?

I love scarecrow books!!!!! Haven't seen this one, though!

When I read this thread topic I thought you were recommending this book because it is about dancing scarecrows, too - The Waltz of the Scarecrows

This Jane Yolen one is new and now in my library reserve box. I'm very interested to read it. I really like a lot of what Jane Yolen writes, though there are occasional ones that are a little out there.

So apppreiate you posting here, Donna - I'm always interested in what you share in picture books.

Now, I'm off to recommend a couple I've been meaning to post about!
